GANDOH: Kilhotran Upper Secondary School, with a history of producing many famous personalities, is named after Captain Shaheed Sanjay Arya today.
Captain Sanjay Arya, inhabitant of Sivli village and son of the soil, achieved martyrdom for the country in 2004.
The institution’s name change ceremony as Captain Sanjay Arya Memorial Higher Secondary School Kilotaran, took place in the presence of parents of Shaheed Sanjay Arya, who came from Jammu to be part of the historic occasion.
Doda District Development Council Chairman Dhananter Singh Kotwal; SDC Advisor, Nadeem Sharif Niaz; the president of BDC Changa, Mohammad Abbas instead; Sarpanch Mahatam Singh Kotwal; Sarpanch Safkat Rather, the panches and the locals were also present.
The program was organized under the supervision of Brijesh Katal, Principal of Kilotaran Upper Secondary School. He warmly greeted all of Sanjay Arya’s guests and relatives. Escort teacher Pradeep Kotwal Arya also played an important role in the success of the event.
Arrangements for the event were made by the Gandoh administration headed by SDM Ashfaq Ahmad Khanday. Tehsildar Irshad Ahmed Sheikh and SHO Gandoh Vikram Singh were also involved in the organization of this program.
On the occasion, Sanjay Arya’s parents, with wet eyes, expressed their gratitude to the government for honoring the martyrs. They wished to erect a statue of their martyred son in the upper secondary school in the coming days and hoped for the cooperation of the administration in this regard.
On occasion, SDM Gandoh recalled his 3-year association at university with Captain Shaeed Sanjay Arya. He said that Sanjay Arya was a very gentle and noble person and a great patriot.
