Apex is hiring a municipal engineering technician

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. • Ashlyn French joins the Apex Municipal Group in Detroit Lakes as an Engineering Technician and will assist in the design and construction of various municipal projects.

She holds a master’s degree in landscape architecture and a bachelor’s degree in environmental design. French is also the owner of ANN Design, a company specializing in lake shore protection/buffering and planting design.

Essentia Health welcomes senior care specialist

FARGO, ND • Elizabeth Niemeyer, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in care of the elderly, is thrilled to welcome new patients to Essentia Health in Fargo.

Minnesota State University Moorhead professor receives awards

MOORHEAD, Minn. • Jitendra Singh, a professor in the School of Nursing & Healthcare Leadership at Minnesota Moorhead State University, received both the 2021 Outstanding Leadership Award and the Quality of Research Paper Award from the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA).

Singh has been nominated in two of seven USDLA categories recognizing leadership and innovation in the distance/digital learning industry under its international awards program. These coveted awards are given each year to organizations and individuals who compete in several categories of excellence.

Singh has reviewed over 100 manuscripts and influenced key policy issues for these peer-reviewed journals. Singh has published on distance learning issues, LEAN principles, telehealth, and healthcare leadership, and is a frequent speaker at international conferences on these and other topics.

He developed MSUM’s online Health Services Administration (HSAD) program, created synergistic double majors with Project Management and Nursing, developed certificates in Long-Term Care Administration and Care Leadership health, quality, and patient safety, expanded transfer partnerships with community colleges, and led successful HSAD accreditation efforts.
