Schools celebrate International Dance Day: The Tribune India

Many schools in the city held events and activities on Friday to mark International Dance Day. The day is celebrated on April 29 every year to encourage dance participation and education. Several events and dance festivals are organized on this day around the world to commemorate the birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre, a French dancer.

BCM School, Basant Avenue

BCM School, Basant Avenue, Dugri celebrated ‘World Dance Day’ with zeal. The school marked the day with special dance performances staged at a special assembly. An inter-house dance competition was held in which the little champions of the main wing showed off their talent through various forms of dance. Both the students and the teachers really enjoyed the foot-clapping music as well as the exquisite dance forms. The principal, Dr. Vandna Shahi, applauded the students’ efforts and said that dance was an art form that helps express life’s emotions and relaxes the mind, body and soul. Primary wing coordinator Sukhnandan Pal Kaur said dancing not only gives an opportunity to express one’s thoughts and feelings, but also keeps one physically fit.

BCM Aryans

BCM Aryans celebrated International Dance Day by showcasing incredible diversity and zealous dance spirit in its premises. No less than 150 students, as well as dance teachers, performed various dances to mark the occasion. Principal Paramjit Kaur applauded the initiative of the school’s dance department.
