Software Republic unveils its first milestones for smart, safe and sustainable mobility

Paris, June 17, 2022. Software République, an open innovation ecosystem for smart, secure and sustainable mobility, today presents its first milestones during the sixth edition of Viva Technology* – one year after its launch by Atos, Dassault Systems, Orange, Renault Group, STMicroelectronics and Thales.

In just a few months, Software République has taken important steps to advance innovations to meet the challenges of mobility. It has enabled the creation and strengthening of collaborations with actors from the private sector (startups, SMEs, large groups), the public sector (local authorities) and the academic sector (schools, universities).

The steps include:

  • CReation of a EIG (Economic Interest Groupingor economic interest grouping) to develop the activity of Software République and supervise the incubation of projects within the collaborative ecosystem.
  • Thea bit of the Software Rpublic incubator in March 2022, with a tailor-made support program to accelerate joint projects and support start-ups. Five startups are currently incubated: Angoka, Geoflex, Parcoor, Vianova and Wattpark.
  • Four finalized projectvsyou are announcement atdaytime, out of more than 30 currently in progress:
    • A Dect & responsibilityD cybersecurity solution

Cybersecurity is one of the major challenges of mobility. Orange – via its subsidiary Orange Cyberdefense – Groupe Renault and Thales, as well as the startup Parcoor, announce the co-design of a solution to detect cyberattack attempts, analyze them and provide a rapid response that protects the vehicle. This solution, based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, will be deployed in Renault vehicles from 2025. The project is supported by BPIfrance.

  • A tool for territories model vehicle flows

Traffic safety and fluidity are major issues for the territories. Dassault Systèmes, Orange and the Renault group are developing a vehicle flow modeling tool. A pilot project has been launched with the Corrèze region in France. This tool provides territories with key data on traffic, infrastructure status and safety so that they can optimize maintenance and construction expenditure.

  • A pproject for a smart and secure solution bidirectional charging station

In response to the challenges of security, sovereignty and integration of electric car charging networks, Orange, the Renault group, STMicroelectronics and Thales are launching a joint development project focused on the intelligence of charging stations in collaboration with Mobilize, brand of the Renault group. The project will be presented at the end of 2022.

  • The Software Republic Academy at address needFishing vscybersecurity skills

To meet the growing needs related to cybersecurity recruitment and skills, the six partners have announced two training programs starting in September 2022. The first will combine a selection of partner cybersecurity training modules for the Software République ecosystem. The second, in partnership with the French school of cybersecurity Ecole 2600 and the French school of digital engineers EFREI, will create two learning programs for higher education levels from 3 to 5 years.

By 2025, Software République aims to launch 10 new product and service offers, to incubate more than 50 startups and to offer services to at least 50 territories.
